Musician Change: MILOŠ and Friends - From Bach to Beatles on May 21

We hereby announce the violist change of the MILOŠ and Friends - From Bach to Beatles at the Concert Hall, scheduled for 19:30 PM on May 21st, 2025. Due to a recurrence of a finger injury, violist James Toll will be unable to perform in the concert and he will be replaced by Chinese violist LIU Zizheng. The programme remains unchanged.

About Violist LIU Zizheng:
LIU Zizheng is an appointed professor at the China Conservatory of Music and an active international soloist and chamber music violist, praised by The Philadelphia Inquirer for his "precise and elegant" performances. He has won numerous international competitions, including the 2014 Primrose International Viola Competition and the 2012 Starlight Artists National Auditions in the U.S. His performances have taken him across North America, Europe, and Asia.

As a soloist, LIU has collaborated with the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra and the Trondheim Soloists. He has also performed at the Kissinger Sommer Festival in Berlin, Germany, and shared the stage with the renowned Tokyo String Quartet. During his studies, he served as principal violist of the Curtis Institute Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, he has held positions as principal violist of the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and guest principal violist with the San Diego Symphony and the Orquesta Filarmónica de Jalisco.

LIU Zizheng graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music and the Colburn School, studying under viola masters Roberto Díaz, Paul Coletti, and Donald McInnes. He has also received chamber music coaching from the Emerson String Quartet, Guarneri Quartet, and Tokyo String Quartet.

A dedicated educator, LIU has given masterclasses worldwide, including at the Royal Academy of Music (London), Soochow University, New World School of the Arts (Miami), Washington Conservatory of Music, and Hong Kong Baptist University, among others.
