comprises a central platform, two side stages and a rear stage. Six elevators underneath the central stage allow it to be moved up, down, back, forward or to rotate, either separately or in unison. With this high maneuverability, scene changes are swift. Both side stages are supported by six sliding sills so they can be transposed through the elevator platform of the main stage for both scene-changes and performance purposes. As the main stage sinks, a ballet stage, concealed beneath the rear stage, can be hoisted and brought to the foreground for performances. The surface of the ballet stage is made of Oregon timber and its triple-layer construction ensures the greatest possible resilience, helping to protect the feets of dancers. It is the largest specialized seamless ballet stage in China.

The 120-square-metre orchestra pit can accommodate symphony orchestras of up to 90 performers. The pit can be raised to the height of the audience and a special elevator can also lift the conductor for a grand entrance.
State-of-the-art engineering allows the 1,588 stage lights to be operated at exceptional speed to change illumination effects in seconds.
The inner walls of the theatre are covered with a special sound-absorbing material that provides near perfect acoustics.
Back stage the Opera House is equipped with all the amenities performers require, including dressing rooms, rehearsal rooms and green room. |
